To configure your sever settings, click on the settings button from the main window.

1. Name: Name to give this server

2. Address: The address of the server. Usually in the format news.server.com.

3. Login and password for the server

4. Port to connect to. Usually 119 for non-ssl and 443/563 for SSL but your provider may vary.

5. SSL: Check SSL if you are using SSL. Your provider must provide SSL (most do)

6. Number of Connections. 1 - 20. The more connections, the more CPU usage. If you are maxing out your connection there is no benefit in having more connections.

After these settings have been filled out press the Test Connection button. SpearNZB will try to connect with the settings you just entered. If the connection is not successful double check your settings.

7. Limit Bandwidth: Limits the bandwidth to the Kilobytes per second typed in here. This can easily be turned off or on here in settings or by right clicking on the status area in the status bar.

Also you might want to check that you don't have a firewall or anything else interfering with communications with your server.
